You bring a question. It could be regarding your desires, your direction, your needs, your truth. Together we will explore it.

  • I think of 1:1 work as a form of inner world exploration. Sessions are for emotional clearing, truth telling, building courage and cultivating your voice.

Maybe you are crossing a particularly challenging threshold in life, experiencing a relationship ending, developing a creative project that is close to your heart, working with a sticky limiting belief, or simply hoping to chat with me.

One-on-one supports movement — whether that is the movement of emotion, building clarity, or accessing release.

  • Sessions open with a short guided, body-based practice to shift from the pace of the world, to the pace of noticing, feeling and being together.

We will explore why you are here, and what you are carrying. I may ask you questions, reflect to you patterns, or invite you to explore blocks.

We will transition into active guided breathwork for the middle of the session. Sessions end with five minutes of journalling and active listening.

  • I often work with therapists, writers, artists, runners, highly sensitive people, women and the LGBTQ+ community.

My clients are often path driven individuals pursuing unconventional lives.

  • I work intuitively and draw on a variety of practices that in my experience, can bring us deeper into the layers of our reality. I often use chanting and other forms of vocalization to explore the charge behind certain language, words, sentences, or feelings. I use somatic mindfulness techniques and may draw your attention to certain areas of the body, based on where I am experiencing sensation. As a writer and former therapist, I am highly informed by the idea of “story” and appreciate “parts work” as a model.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

  • I use several different breathwork and meditation techniques including:

    • conscious connected breath or circular breathing

    • two-part breath similar to Dirga Pranayama

    • alternate nostril breathing or Nadi Shodhana

    • insight style or Vipassana

    • Xi breathing

    • visualization

My approach:

I believe deep listening, without an agenda, can bring forward healing and transformation. This kind of listening Thich Nhat Han has called “compassionate listening”. My approach as a facilitator is to practice compassionate listening, and to “listen with the ears of the heart” (Saint Benedict). I also do my best to remain attuned to my body, especially areas like the throat, the stomach and the chest, while listening — as this can sometimes provide insight into areas of the body where clients are experiencing physical/emotional blocks.

I frequently invite clients to shift out of a conversational pace, to slow down, and begin paying attention on a sensory level to what is emerging. In my experience, somatic work requires “exiting” the narrative mind and beginning to drop in to another form of conversation that is happening at the level of the body.

Rather than “intellectualizing” or “advice-giving”, my facilitation (both during the breathwork and our dialogue) is primarily informed by this form of listening and present-moment exploration of what may be “in the room” with us—especially what is often less perceptible.

  • “One of the most meaningful shifts [in working with Hannah] has been understanding that shame begins to metabolize when we tell the truth. Hannah has supported me in being able to say what’s true, feel what’s present, and honor who I am, and who I'm becoming."

    - Aubrey

  • "[Hannah] creates a loving container for one to be witnessed in all of their beauty and messiness. In the hardest time of my life, that container was so life-giving when I was so depleted. Humor was there, encouragement, genuine interest, deep listening. Spiritual support, more therapeutic than anything else I’ve experienced. She treats everyone like a human, an equal, rather than yet another client walking through the door. If you too have felt that from people you’ve gone to for help, Hannah’s approach will start to heal the invisibility and unwelcomeness of it. She brings a kindness and a calm, and in both groups and 1:1, makes you feel like you’re completely allowed."

    - Jen

  • "Hannah has a gift for bringing information, stories, and images together in a way that lands in the body. I'm a lover of language, and how she taught resonated. [Hannah guiding of] breathwork into visual meditations took me somewhere I couldn't have reached alone. The structure of lecture, into visualization, into writing, into sharing, felt like its own soft ceremony."

    - Kel

  • "Today when I shared and you asked me how I felt, I said calm but upon reflection, I think I meant safe. I felt safe. Thank you."

    - Julie

  • I was nervous to meet Hannah because of how much her words have meant to me. Meeting her only made them all more meaningful. She is wonderful, kind, thoughtful, and honours her humanness. In doing so, she has given me permission to honour mine. Through breathwork with Hannah I expanded my capacity to be with my most uncomfortable feelings. A deep gift I cherish. [Hannah's work is for] heart minded, curious folks who are looking to live an aligned meaningful life.
