Somatic Breathwork 1:1 - 60-90 minute (sliding scale)
Breathwork is a spiritual and somatic tool for emotional release, nervous system regulation + connection with Self.
I began facilitating breathwork because I found it incredibly helpful for anxiety relief, accessing & releasing anger, quieting internal “noise” and developing clarity. In short, breathwork was one of the few healing modalities I tried that actually helped me feel better! To read more about breathwork, and my experience with the practice, click here.
Why choose 1:1?
One-on-one work can be especially helpful (and necessary) if you are seeking individualized care. Breathwork sessions involve an opportunity at the beginning and the end for us to discuss your intentions, your goals, to explore any questions or concerns you might have, or to simply be together with what is. Maybe you are crossing a particularly challenging threshold in life, developing a creative project that is close to your heart, working with a sticky limiting belief, or simply hoping to chat with me. One-on-one work can be great for these purposes.
My approach:
I believe deep listening, without an agenda, can bring forward healing and transformation. This kind of listening Thich Nhat Han has called “compassionate listening”. My approach as a facilitator is to practice compassionate listening, and to “listen with the ears of the heart” (Saint Benedict). I also do my best to remain attuned to my body, especially areas like the throat, the stomach and the chest, while listening — as this can sometimes provide insight into areas of the body where clients are experiencing physical/emotional blocks.
I frequently invite clients to shift out of a conversational pace, to slow down, and begin paying attention on a sensory level to what is emerging. In my experience, somatic work requires “exiting” the narrative mind and beginning to drop in to another form of conversation that is happening at the level of the body.
Rather than “counseling”, “therapizing”, “intellectualizing” or “advice-giving”, my facilitation (both during the breathwork and our dialogue) is primarily informed by this form of listening and present-moment sharing of what may be “in the room” with us—especially what is often less perceptible.
FAQ
Are sliding scale spots available?
Yes, I currently have sliding scale spots available ranging from $125-$250 for 90 minute session.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60-90 minutes in length, depending on the needs of the client.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions are held virtually, on Zoom. You will be lying down during the breathwork so have a yoga mat or another comfortable surface ready to lay on.
What can I expect in a session:
The session opens with a consultation, exploring intentions and learning how to do the breathwork. We will then flow into the active breathing, followed by a grounding meditation. There is time at the end for sharing your integration.
Process
Once you have purchased a session, you will receive an email from me to schedule our session. I do book sessions on weekends and in the evening. We will find a time that works for both of us, and then I will send you a zoom link.
